It’s been 10 years since Joanna decided to take the plunge and move to England with her children.
A doting stay at home mum and taking care of her children was her main priority in life. It was many years later that Joanna started to think about how she had dreamed of owning her own business and becoming an independent business woman.
Joanna as always had contact with art since a very young age, she was blessed to be brought up in a very artistic household and had spent la great deal of time at home trying all aspects of art.
About a year and a half ago her father’s short fight with cancer had led to his death, which in turn had a huge impact on her life, in fact, the stress of the events had caused the paralyse of the right side of her body, along with that, Joanna and the children were on the brink of losing their home.
Joanna always remained optimistic and little did she know her luck was about to change, on the day Joanna was to lose her house she received information that a shop on Friar Gate became available to rent, and without any hesitation Joanna went to view the shop.
The property was ideal, so the following day Joanna created an event on Facebook, invited all her friends and explained the situation she was in. Remarkably after just 10 hours she had enough money in her bank account to pay for the deposit.
The determination and faith in Joanna‘s self belief is inspirational, to succeed in opening her own tattoo shop was her dream that became reality! Of course, she didn’t achieve all that by herself. “I am lucky as I am surrounded by amazing people, plus the support that I get from my family and friends is amazing”.
On the 27th of September 2016, they opened the studio for the first time, and day by day their clientele has grown.
Joanna’s determination runs in the family, a short while ago her daughter Hannah received her own tattoo license, whilst her older son is in the final stages of opening a barber shop just next door. In Joanna’s humble words,
“ I’m proud to say that my whole family has come a very long way
and of that I am very grateful.”
