The Lodge Bar & Dining was purchased by the Crooks family back in 2000

It has recently undergone major refurbishment within the main restaurant and bar building.

The aim of the family was to turn this establishment from an A La Carte dining area and carvery into one of the best gastro pubs in the area.

Nick Crooks has been developing these alterations and modernisations through the last year. One part of the alteration was by building a large sun patio out on the front of the building, this catches the sun from mid-morning until sunset in the evening, in summer months.

The Lodge Bar is basically split into a gastro restaurant where waitress service for drinks, cocktails and food order are available. The other half has been turned into a modern bar with Sky Sports TVs. In this area, it’s a top class gastro pub where the same food can be eaten but on a more casual basis.

We have acquired the Head Chef, Guy Edwards, to achieve the type of food and the quality needed to be in front of our competitors. All produce and meats are purchased fresh and from local outlets. The meats namely from Owen Taylor of Leabrooks, the award-winning purveyor of meats, with his award-winning sirloin steaks and sausages all cooked in house. Fresh vegetables are all supplied again by local suppliers.

The establishment also boasts 16 letting bedrooms which are to be modernised and upgraded in the fairly near future. There is ample parking at The Lodge Bar & Dining and comprehensive CCTV keeps both you and your vehicle in view at all times.

The service side of The Lodge Bar & Dining is run by our resident assistant general manager Ross Cheeseman. Ross has recently taken up this position and is forming a good backbone of loyal and pleasant staff.
