Originally a three storey house built about 200 years ago, which was converted into a pub a few years afterwards. The origin of the name came as a result of Flower Shows being held in the nearby Drill Hall. The pub having been extended into the property next door, is deceptively spacious inside.

The Flowerpot is a 250 capacity venue in Derby, located in the heart of the city’s Cathedral Quarter. It is also famed for it’s vast selection of real ales from all around the UK. A brewery has now been built which now provides punters with excellent ales brewed on the premises. Derby’s best live venue.

As well as being one of Derby’s most popular venues for live music, The Flowerpot also offers accommodation through their relatively new bed and breakfast services.

The Flowerpot is a very iconic Derby public house famed for its range of real ales. It is also one of Derby’s few live music venues. The building consists of a front room with bar and seating continuing round into the rest of the bar area. There is also a small comfortable seating area in the back bar area with a viewing panel of the pubs stillage. Free acoustic sessions: Monday 8pm, Wednesday 9pm and Sunday 4pm to 7pm.

As well as FREE live acoustic music sets Wednesday evening and Sunday afternoon, they also host have regular performances from original blues & rock artists and tribute bands.

The venue’s success is down to a determined duo who want to establish Derby as the country’s music capital.
