It can be hard at times to get away from it all. There is a lot that goes on in our lives and just getting away for a few hours might just be what you need to help unwind and spend quality time with those you care about.

You don’t have to go too far to find some very Savvy places. Within 10 minutes of the City Centre you can have a fantastic savvy day by the water in Derby. The Boardwalk – the perfect place for a day out or relaxing for a few hours. Wine and dine at the bar & restaurant, explore the large farm shop and browse the boutique retailers. If you need to grab a few things, not to worry as there is a convenience store and gift shop situated on the marina allowing you to grab some essentials or perhaps a few treats? The Still Waters Convenience & Gift Shop can offer you a wide range of daily essentials as well as boating supplies and gifts.

Want to make something creative and unique? Why not visit the Mug Tug and make yourself or a loved one a custom mug, vase or teapot and have fun while you create a one of a kind souvenir. There are many restaurants to visit that will offer you a place to eat, drink and relax. One in particular being The Boardwalk which offers seasonal, locally produced food and a wide range of drinks.

The Butcher, Baker Farm shop and coffee house is also a wonderful location to sit down and put your feet up and enjoy the taste of their fresh coffee, cooked meats and freshly made breads, amongst other treats.

Just outside the marina are the villages of Findern, Willington, Repton and Stenson with some delightful places to eat and drink. If dining by the Water is floating your boat, why not visit the Pub-like Indian Nadee Restaurant at Findern and enjoy a great selection of fresh, mouth-watering south Asian cuisine alongside the canal, or venture a little further and to the Ragley boat stop and sample its fine menu.

If its fun your after then try Trent Adventure, their aim is to help get people out enjoying themselves on the water. They hire out Canadian style ‘open’ canoes on both the River Trent, and the Trent and Mersey Canal.
