The gig at The Flowerpot on 27th July is free entry and is part of their Americana Big Weekend.
The Po’ Boys are high energy electric Cajun and are working to bring Cajun music back to the popularity it saw in the 80s and 90s with local music night ‘The Swamp Club’.
Frontman Lil Jim has been awarded the title of Best European Accordion Player by Cajun & Zydeco Europe. He has been playing the Accordion, along with an array of other instruments, for over 20 years. Cajun music is in his blood – his father is ‘Beeds’ from R. Cajun & The Zydeco Brothers.
Jim is the founder of “Down To Roots Music” and has made a name for himself in Derby and the surrounding area as well as performing at numerous festivals around Europe. He has even played several times on stage in Louisiana, the home of Cajun & Zydeco!
