The Forge nestled in The Old Blacksmiths Yard was set up by Brad Worley back in the summer of 2014 bringing Derby it’s first gourmet burger bar.
It’s emphasis has always been on serving high quality burgers matched with an extensive beer selection carefully chosen from all over the world. With over 20 burgers on offer and it’s constantly changing Burger of the Month there is something for everyone on offer here
Its location in it’s historical yard and it’s huge outdoor space has proved a hit since opening as its a great area partially covered from the elements to eat and drink outside in the city centre.
Being heated is a bonus as you can use this area throughout the year. It’s main dining and drinking area on the ground floor has a simple rustic charm to it and their private dining area upstairs with its exposed vaulted beamed ceiling is a beautiful area for any private function or party.
General manger George Allison has been promoted through the ranks and his extensive knowledge on beer, spirits and cocktails has kept The Forge serving some of the best drinks available.
He prides himself on providing the best service being relaxed and personal throughout.
Head Chef Daniel Carr has been with us a short time but his impact has been felt and the quality of food and offering has improved under his watch. He is excited to keep building on what he has done up to now and keep developing the menu.
Daniel’s Christmas creations make for a great alternative to your more standing Christmas food and are to include; Giant Pig in Blanket Burger, Honey and Mustard Pulled Ham and his Bubble & Squeak with Camembert burger for our vegetarians has been a massive success.
Our Christmas menu will run along side our most popular burger menu throughout December. Sliders and sides served up as a buffet style for Christmas parties has proved popular with bookings up to now and with it’s upstairs area holding up to 80 guests, its booking up quick.
